Lame Name, Great Products

Lame Name, Great Products

Maybe it's just me, but when I hear the word "glam", I am immediately back to the mid-aughts, surrounded by bubble skirts, Paris Hilton, Von Dutch hats, and ultra low-rise jeans.  I can't think of a reason for that association, which makes it as irrational as any other prejudice, but the linkage is still there.  So I waited a long time to get my first GlamGlow mask, as I let the condition of my skin be undermined by the pointless bias inside my brain.  Eventually, though, the positive ratings on Sephora's website reached a critical mass, and I could no longer resist.  Now I'm not just a user; I'm a huge fan.

There's the ThirstyMud hydrating mask, a soothing honey-colored moisturizer that leaves my skin actually glowing and even-toned, even in crazy winter weather or after a few late nights.  The YouthMud Tinglexfoliate is kind of a crumbly pain to get on and will dry out frustratingly quickly, but the magic it works on my skin's texture is worth the effort.  I'm never totally sure what skincare that promises "brightening" is really supposed to do, but I know that after using the FlashMud Brightening mask, I do have a healthy glow.  The GravityMud Firming mask probably makes the least noticeable difference, but it is a beautiful pearly color going on and is meant to be peeled off in a way that is so satisfying as to make it wort the effort, if maybe not the price.

The full-sized jars of GlamGlow masks last a long time, and you can usually get little travel-sized jars if you just want to try a little bit first.  Best of all, GlamGlow's masks are formulated without the most popular nasties that are in so many beauty products--parabens, phthalates, and sulfates.  Everybody's skin is different, and you never know how things will work for you until they try them, but if I'm here, where the whole Internet can see me, admitting my initial response to the line was irrational, unreasonable, and just plain wrong, then these have got to be some great produces.  Check them out for yourself!
